How Do I Get My Products Listed on these Charts?
Flow Rate Videos - See the conditions to which slopes and channels are exposed by various flow rates.
Slope and Channel Installation Auto CADD Drawings - view the CADD applications of Soil and Channel Installations in PDF or DWG format.
HEC #15
Introduction/HEC 15 Calculation - the latest version of the Federal Highway Administration's Hydraulic Engineering Circular (HEC) #15 is available. The design manual focuses on roadside channels. This third edition was updated in 2006 by Roger T. Kilgore and George K. Cotton.

Design Tools
The tools below will assist you in selecting appropriate erosion control products. The following information is only the first step in the careful evaluation of the erosion control materials best suited to the site conditions and needs.

Disclaimer: These charts contains only general recommendations for the use of commercially available rolled erosion control products (RECPs) and must not be used for actual product selection without consideration of more site-specific design factors. The manufacturer of the product listed has provided all performance values shown. These values are certifiable and are backed by independent test data. The ECTC and its members accept no liability for misuse of this information. For specific performance data and design procedures for the products listed, along with detailed recommendations for other application types, simply click on the hotlink to the product manufacturer's web site or contact the supplier directly.

Process for listing products on www.ectc.org

ECTC members’ products listed in this section undergo a comprehensive peer review process. The positioning of the product is the manufacturer’s sole responsibility; ECTC makes no claims and assumes no liability for products as positioned by the manufacturer. However, a peer group reviews each submittal to ensure the product has been subjected to the appropriate testing by the manufacturer. The following is a summary of the product review process for listings in the Product Selection & Design section of this site.

1. Members must complete an extensive application and provide test reports for all products they would like listed within each perspective performance category.

2. The ECTC Testing and Specifications Committee meets to review the application and supporting data and then recommends whether or not and where to include the product on the chart. The Committee makes a recommendation.

3. If the Testing and Specifications Committee recommends that the product not be listed within the desired category, a detailed response is sent back to the submitting manufacturer highlighting the grounds for rejection and necessary steps to achieve listing in the desired category.

4. If the Testing and Specifications Committee recommends that the product be included, then a ballot is sent to ECTC Directing Membership.

5. Directing Membership approves the ballot and the product is listed.

Each product must go through this entire review process.

The Erosion Control Technology Council (ECTC) is a non-profit organization. Its mission is to develop performance standards, uniform testing procedures, and guidance on the application and installation of rolled erosion control products ( RECPs ). The ECTC promotes the use of erosion control mats and blankets through industry leadership and education in the hope of making a broad contribution to the science of erosion control and environmental preservation.
