What is QDORTM?
QDORTM (Quality Data Oversight and Review) is the mark of quality in the rolled erosion control product industry. Products bearing the QDORTM seal have been manufactured and tested according to industry standards much like the well-recognized Underwriters Laboratory© (UL) label applied to many quality electrical appliances. By certifying that a product is “Performance Verified” under the QDORTM program, the product performance data has been conducted, submitted and reviewed according to under the protocol established in the QDORTM Guidance Manual.
This program has been developed by the Erosion Control Technology Council (ECTC) to assist engineers, specifiers and government agencies in the proper selection, specification and use of rolled erosion control products. For government agencies, this program offers a highly effective screening process for rolled erosion control products and the QDORTM product listing can be used to develop Approved Product Lists (APL). For private sector engineers, QDORTM provides all the pertinent performance data to enable accurate design and product comparisons. For contractors, QDORTM helps ensure the product purchased and received will meet their quality expectations.
The entire QDORTM program is described in the QDORTM Guidance Manual. The QDOR program requires products to be actively enlisted in the AASHTO-NTPEP program for index testing and supported by large scale performance testing utilizing ASTM D 6459 and ASTM D 6460. If you are interested in implementing the QDORTM program, this reference will answer most questions you may have. You are also welcome to call the ECTC offices to get more information.
Review the QDORTM Manual
How does it work?
- Erosion control products must be tested in conformance with the requirements of the QDORTM manual. (large scale and index testing)
- All products submitted must have data verified by the laboratory conducting the testing.
- Test information is submitted in detail via an online data collection system.
- Submitted test data is reviewed using the protocol dictated in the QDORTM Guidance Manual.
- Approved products will be allowed to use the official QDORTM logo on the products and product- specific literature and packaging materials.
Benefits to adopting the QDORTM Program:
- QDORTM can ease your erosion control product selection tasks.
- All QDORTM products are subjected to industry standard performance test methods.
- You can look for the QDORTM logo to identify products that meet this standard.
- QDORTM requirements will be upgraded and changed as the state of the industry advances.
- QDORTM is the mark of quality that if required will save your inspectors time in the field.

Legal Disclaimer
By certifying that a product is "Performance Verified" under the QDORTM Program, the Erosion Control Technology Council (ECTC) confirms that product performance data has been submitted and reviewed by the ECTC QDORTM Technical Committee. This review ensures that testing was conducted pursuant to state-of-the-practice protocols and the Industry thresholds of performance. The "QDORTM Performance Verified" designation is not intended to replace consultation with erosion control industry professionals and/or product manufacturers, and in no way verifies that a product will perform to a certain level in actual field applications. Further, because a product's performance in the field may be affected by multiple factors, including proper installation, neither the QDORTM Brand nor the ECTC makes any representations or warranties of any kind or nature, whether express or implied, created by law, contract or otherwise, including, without limitation, any representations or warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose.
